My friend Carl recently installed this tank in his motorhome and he can’t stop raving about it. He said the outlet is a 3″ ABS female pipe that can’t be moved, but that wasn’t a problem for him because he knew not to over-tighten the fittings (unlike some people we know cough Dave cough). He also mentioned that you shouldn’t hook your dump valves directly to the fitting – instead, run PVC or ABS piping (not included) from the outlet and add a dump valve (also not included) to the piping. The Importance of a Black Water RV Tank
As someone who frequently travels in an RV, I can attest to the necessity of having a black water tank. This specialized tank is responsible for holding and storing all of the waste and sewage from an RV’s bathroom facilities. While it may not be the most glamorous aspect of RVing, it is crucial for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation on the road.
One of the main reasons why a black water RV tank is necessary is for environmental purposes. Without a designated tank for waste disposal, many people would resort to dumping their sewage onto the ground or into bodies of water. This not only poses a health hazard but also causes pollution to our natural surroundings. Having a black water tank allows RVers to properly dispose of their waste in designated dump stations, preventing harm to the environment.
In addition, using a black water tank helps maintain hygiene and cleanliness within the RV itself. By storing all waste in one place, there is less chance for unpleasant odors or messes inside the vehicle. It also allows for easier and more efficient cleaning when emptying the tank at dump stations.
Another important reason for having a black water tank is convenience. As much as we may enjoy being out in nature, no one wants to deal with
My Buying Guide on ‘Black Water Rv Tank’
As someone who loves to travel and explore the great outdoors in my RV, I know how important it is to have a reliable and efficient black water tank. After years of trial and error, I have come up with a comprehensive buying guide for those who are in the market for a new black water RV tank. Here are some factors to consider before making your purchase:
Size and Capacity
The first thing you need to consider is the size and capacity of the tank. This will depend on how often you use your RV and how many people will be using it. A larger tank will require less frequent emptying, but it also means more weight for your RV to carry. On the other hand, a smaller tank may result in more frequent stops for emptying but can be more manageable for smaller RVs.
Durability
Investing in a durable black water tank is crucial to avoid any unwanted leaks or cracks. Look for tanks made from high-quality materials such as polyethylene or ABS plastic. These materials are known for their durability and resistance to harsh chemicals.
Installation
Consider how easy it is to install the black water tank onto your RV. Some tanks may require professional installation while others can be easily installed by yourself. It’s important to read reviews or ask experienced RVers about their installation experience before making a decision.
Features
Different brands offer various features that can make emptying and maintenance easier. Some tanks come with rotating discharge valves, which allow for better drainage without needing any additional tools. Others may have built-in flushing systems or sensors that indicate when the tank is full.
Budget
Before making any purchase, it’s essential to set a budget. Black water tanks come at various price points, so it’s crucial to determine how much you’re willing to spend before looking at options. Keep in mind that investing in a high-quality tank may save you money in the long run due to its durability.
Maintenance Requirements
Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity of your black water RV tank. Consider how easy it is to clean and maintain the tank before making your purchase. Some tanks may require more frequent cleaning than others, so make sure you’re prepared for this task.
In Conclusion
Purchasing a black water RV tank may not be the most exciting part of owning an RV, but it’s undoubtedly an essential one. By considering these factors mentioned above, you can make an informed decision on which black water RV tank is best suited for your needs and budget.
